When I visit my aged mom in Florida, I stay in the Days Inn at Pompano Beach. It is a trucker’s motel with dozens of gigantic rigs parked around the periphery every night like sleeping dinosaurs. These dinosaurs start to snort and hoot at sunrise. The truckers are generally lovely people. This image started as a snapshot of a trucker working on his engine one morning. I have tweaked the image to give a cartoon or painting quality to the engine in juxtaposition with the very human qualities of the man.
